Looking for the best flooring for your bedroom? In this bedroom flooring guide, we’ll cover the best options for bedroom flooring (as well as a few products to avoid).

#1: Carpet

Carpet isn’t the best flooring for bedrooms, but it’s definitely the softest!

Carpet is a fantastic choice because it can offer what no other floor can: comfort and warmth, which is why we had to put it at #1 on our list.

But keep in mind that the style of the carpet is important. There are two main factors that affect how a carpet performs: The pile height and the yarn of the carpet.

In general, a thicker carpet will be more comfortable but not more durable. However, bedrooms don’t get a lot of traffic, so even if you choose a thicker carpet, you don’t have to worry about it tearing over time.

Yarn Fibers: Wool vs. Synthetic

Wool carpet is by far the most popular natural fiber carpet, but its performance does not match that of synthetic fiber carpets made from materials such as polyamine and polypropylene. In modern times, the number of allergens found in wool has increased, so to avoid them, carpets made from synthetic materials are used. They are incredibly durable, stain resistant, and have much better moisture resistance.

#2: Three-layer parquet

Tarkett parquet is a 100% wood floor with a multi-layer construction. Multi-layer parquet consists of 3 layers of wood joined at an angle of 90 degrees. The top layer of the parquet is made of hardwood (oak, ash, beech…), and the middle and bottom layers are also 100% wood. Fir, pine or spruce wood is used to make the middle layer, while the same types of wood are used for the bottom, back veneer.

Unlike carpet, which can harbor dust and allergens, parquet is easy to clean and maintain, contributing to better indoor air quality. Regular mopping is all that is needed to keep wood floors looking their best.

Additionally, hardwood floors can improve the value of your home, making it an attractive option for future resale.

#3: Vinyl

LVT – Luxury vinyl flooring is a premium type of waterproof PVC flooring that can mimic the look of any wood grain. Although completely synthetic, vinyl planks look and feel just like authentic hardwood.

Vinyl can also have a tile look, available in various patterns.

#4: Laminate

Laminate is a material that is predominantly made from wood – Tarkett laminate consists of 80% wood in the middle layer, while the surface of the laminate has a decorative layer of printed paper, which largely determines its quality and appearance.

Laminate consists of four layers:

  •  The top surface layer provides the laminate with durability, wear resistance and stain resistance.
  •  A decorative layer made of printed paper gives it a final look and offers unlimited possibilities for creating patterns.
  •  Thanks to the third, supporting layer, consisting of high-density wood fibers, the laminate achieves its strength.
  •  The last is the balancing layer, whose role is to protect the floor from moisture penetration.

Laminate flooring is also easy to clean and maintain, requiring only regular sweeping and occasional damp mopping to keep it looking its best. Additionally, it is available in a wide range of styles and colors, providing plenty of options to match any bedroom decor.
